We’ve been a bit quiet for a while but we are excited to announce our involvement in a fresh new project based in Lewisham.
Made In Lewisham is a community-led movement to encourage and promote creativity, sustainable enterprise and cultural heritage engagement and tourism in the borough.
Story Matters is working with community groups across Lewisham to help them to record and share their cultural heritage. Using celebration as a starting point, Story Matters will work with these groups as they explore their traditional feasts and festivals, sharing personal memories and traditional stories. We will continue to support them as they develop ways to share these stories and traditions with a wider audience, both digitally as part of a Made In Lewisham collection, and through storytelling and activities at cultural heritage events around the borough.

Story Matters is excited to be working with Somerville Youth and Play Provision on a spoken word project “Giving Voice” to 14-18 year olds, co-funded by the Telegraph Hill Festival, the New Cross & Deptford Free Film Festival and public donations. Visit our Localgiving page to add your support:
